Activities & Excursions
After a day of studying spanish language, Cuernavaca offers many options for relaxation including golf, tennis, bowling, jogging, walking, swimming, and much more. Enjoy our charming historic downtown or sit in one of the friendly sidewalk cafes or bars where you can enjoy a drink and practice your Spanish language with the locals.
The Spanish Language School at Kukulcan includes as part of its academic Spanish programs weekly half-day excursions to places of interest in Cuernavaca, such as the Palacio de Cortes, the Borda Gardens, the Cathedral, the Robert Brady museum, or the Muros museum. Transportation and museum entrance fees are covered in the program costs.
You may want to explore some of the smaller towns around Cuernavaca on your own, or ask us to organize trips for you to visit the extraordinary colonial churches, ex-haciendas, swimming areas, archeological sites, spas, and artisan craft fairs in the state of Morelos, where we are located.
Weekend excursions to places in central Mexico can be organized for an additional fee or you can do it on your own. Our students have enjoyed exploring the beauty of Mexico by visiting Mexico City, Acapulco, Taxco, San Miguel de Allende, Querétaro, Puebla, Cholula, the ruins at Teotihuacán, and the floating gardens of Xochimilco. Costs for weekend excursions will vary depending on the destination and any need for overnight accommodations in hotels.
Travel study programs are available and can be worked out with your university for additional credits. These inclued weekend excursions to important museums, archeological sites, and colonial cities to complement the cultural classes you receive at Kukulcan. The costs of these programs vary depending on the destination, number of participants in the group, and length of stay.
