Your Trip to Mexico - Learning Spanish Language

We recommend that you fly into Mexico City, the nearest international airport to Cuernavaca. Cuernavaca´s airport is small and has a limited number of connecting flights. It is not worth the cost to fly to Cuernavaca from Mexico City. From the airport, you can take a direct bus (Pullman de Morelos) to Cuernavaca for approximately $12 USD. Buses run every 30 minutes throughout the day and evening. We recommend that you plan your flight arrival time for no later than 4 p.m. so you will arrive in Cuernavaca before dark. For your return home, plan your flight out of Mexico City airport no earlier than 7.30 a.m. This will ensure you have time to travel from Cuernavaca to Mexico City and be at the airport three hours in advance of your departure, as recommended by all major international airlines. Buses are safe, economical and comfortable, and there are baggage handlers at the airport and bus terminals to help you with your luggage. Another option is for a Kukulcan chauffeur to pick you up at the Mexico City airport for $100 USD. This cost can be shared by 2 people, if you are traveling together and arrive at the same time.

For U.S., Canadian, and European citizens, the only required document to get into México is a passport. Upon arrival in Mexico, you will get a “tourist card” that allows you to remain in Mexico for up to 180 days. Be sure to keep your tourist card because you will have to turn it in when you leave Mexico. If you lose your tourist card, you will have to pay a fee of about $45 US at the Mexico City airport when you depart.
